A Case of Hyperplastic Ileocæcal Tuberculosis Treated with Pneumoperitoneum

چکیده

hyperplastic ileocecal tuberculosis in these cases is well known. The choice of treatment in hyperplastic ileocecal tuberculosis, no doubt, is surgical intervention in doing a short-circuit operation, but in a great majority of our towns such highly skilled surgery is often not available and because of our fatalistic attitude many patients refuse to undergo this major operation, where facilities for this operation exist. What then is the second best method of treatment for such cases ? In the medical and surgical textbooks and literature available here nowhere is there any mention of pneumoperitoneum as an alternative method of treatment where surgical intervention is not possible. As one of my cases responded to this method of treatment I venture to report the case. Kely Khan, aged 25 years, Muslim, unmarried, was admitted to the sanatorium on 22nd January, 1948, as a transfer case from another jail with the following complaints :?
